Offset printing characteristics and application of UV LED light curing machine technology in offset printing. Offset printing, also known as flat printing, is a widely used printing method in the field of printing. Graphic and non-graphic parts of offset printing are basically on the same plane, only slightly different in height, using the principle of oil-water exclusion printing. The graphic part is hydrophobic (ink-friendly), while the non-graphic part is hydrophilic (ink-repellent). When printing, wet the non-graphic part with the wetting liquid first. Graphic and textual parts are repulsive solution; then ink is transferred by ink rollers, and ink is accepted by graphic and textual parts, not by graphic and textual parts; and then ink is transferred to rubber cylinders, and then passed to the printer, which is indirect printing.

 

 

 

The main characteristics of offset printing are as follows:

 

 

 

1. Ink thickness is very thin, generally the monochrome thickness of offset printing ink is about 2 micron.

 

 

 

2. Because the oil rollers and water rollers alternately contact with the printing plate, the printing adaptability of the ink is very high, and at the same time, the emulsification of the ink should be prevented.

 

 

 

3. Offset printing is very fast, generally in the range of 100-400 m/min.

 

 

 

4. Offset ink has high viscosity, high pigment concentration and high dyeing power.

 

 

 

5. Overprint accuracy is high (low pressure), good reproduction of pictures and texts, clear dots and rich layers.

 

 

 

According to the characteristics of appeal offset printing, the formulation design of UV offset printing ink should consider that oligomers and active diluents should have good water resistance. In printing, ink rollers and water rollers will not contact colloidally and emulsify. In order to disperse pigments better, polyester acrylate with good dispersibility of pigments is often chosen as the main resin component in UV offset printing ink. Because of the fast offset printing speed, oligomers and active diluents should choose resins and monomers with fast curing rate and high functionality.
