What is the problem of electrostatic spraying of UV-curable UV LED? Ultraviolet powder coatings are mostly coated by electrostatic spraying. For conductive base materials, traditional corona spraying gun is used; for non-conductive base materials, friction starting spraying gun should be used; for non-conductive base materials, opposite charges should be put on the surface of the coated objects to facilitate painting. There are two kinds of electrostatic spraying: high pressure spraying and friction electrostatic spraying.

 

 

 

1. High Voltage Electrostatic Spraying

 

 

 

High-voltage electrostatic is supplied by high-voltage electrostatic generator. The workpiece should be grounded before spraying. Under the action of purified compressed air, powder coating enters the electrostatic powder spraying gun by powder feeder through powder conveying pipe. The nozzle head is equipped with metal rings or needles with sharp edges at the end as electrodes. When the electrodes are connected to high voltage static electricity, corona discharges are generated at the tip and dense negative charges are generated near the electrodes. When the powder is ejected from the head of the classical nozzle, the captured charges become charged powder, which flies to the junction under the action of airflow and electric field. The ground workpiece is adsorbed on the surface of the workpiece to finish painting.

 

 

 

2. Friction Electrostatic Spraying

 

 

 

Friction electrostatic spraying does not require a high voltage electrostatic generator. The gun body usually uses cathode material. Powder spraying is due to collision between powder particles and friction between powder and gun body, which makes the powder particles have positive charges, while the inside of gun body produces negative charges, which are introduced into the earth through grounded cables. The positively charged powder particles fly to the workpiece under the action of compressed air flow and are adsorbed on the workpiece surface to finish painting.
