The working principle of UVLED digital printing light source is that UV ink is cured instantaneously by cross-linking polymerization under the irradiation of UVLED irradiator. This type of gel UVLED ink specially used for digital presses can be used for printing metal sheets, smooth surface plastics and cardboard, and has wide application range. The gel UVLED curable ink can solidify and dry the ink when the wavelength is equal to the wavelength of the UVLED irradiator.

 

1. Curing mechanism of UVLED digital printing light source

 

 

 

UV ink selectively absorbs UV light, and its drying is affected by the total energy radiated by UV LED light source and the distribution of light energy at different wavelengths. Under the irradiation of UVLED light, the photopolymerization initiator in UV ink absorbs certain wavelength photons and excites them to the excitation state to form free radicals or ions. Then, through the transfer of energy between molecules, polymers such as polymer prepolymers and photosensitive monomers become excited states, resulting in charge transfer complexes. These complexes are continuously crosslinked and polymerized to form films.
